My wife didn’t have to worry, I (more than likely) would go shopping with her (except for shoes) because I wouldn’t be watching the game, anyway ! ! ! !
We are off to the library book sale today. The one up in Portland was great, but Salem is a much smaller place. Last weekend, it was a plant sale. It’s been raining, so none of the plants have been planted yet.
Why would a plugger make a plugger go shopping with them? When on vacation or just out and about running errands I always have a book handy. Then when the better half sees a store she wants to check out I find a bench. Win Win.
Have opposite problem. For most of married life we were both working. Husband was director of children’s mental health center & I am an accountant so I was on the road most days going to clients & he was always at his office. I ran all errands – no complaint, I enjoyed doing same. Wish I still did – he is almost always with me at his desire not to be alone or at home.
Husband got burned out at work (had to deal with 2 different state agencies & if one said they had to do X, the other would come in & have a fit as they were not allowed to do X. So in his mid 50s we worked out a deal for him to quit his job (& we would increase our craft business – ha ha) & I would become our main support. A major part of this agreement was “I will continue with my daytime life as it is and you will find your own things to do – or I will kill you.”
At first this worked fine. Then gasoline went crazy in price and he pointed out that it made no sense for me to go to the supermarket and him to separately go to the Home Depot in the same parking lot so we started running errands together if both had same. Of course it became we go everywhere but my embroidery guild meeting (and he has managed to come and teach some classes at same over the years) and I was still going out to clients on my own. Before Covid hit I was down to one client to go to monthly – others were tax clients. Since Covid I no longer went to her and she mails me copies of her records.
So we hit a point where he was doing all the driving – I had to go for jury duty and had only driven to our mechanic 3 blocks away 3 times since Covid started and I drove our RV to next county once when needed generator oil changed (I am better driver – he is afraid to drive it alone and he drives our car so we can leave it for the work). And those trips were so far before I had to go out and practice driving to go for jury duty. Now back to going to my embroidery club every month so driving once a month again at least.

I’d rather take a whipping than go shopping with my wife. Grocery shopping yes but mall shopping heck no.

What he failed to mention is, he’ll be watching in the electronic store at the mall while she’s shopping in the other stores.

So…he’s a dog and his wife’s a chicken. Do they have any kids and, if so, what are the kids?

It sounds like having him watch the game while she shops would be the ideal win-win situation for both partners.
