Soon, people are going to ask, “What’s a newspaper?”

It depends on entertainment. We know what buggy whips are.

Typewriters? They still use those?

A laptop, with paper.

A keyboard, sweeties.

Unless somebody threw one of those 60-pound Remingtons at your head, no way did the impact compete with a 350-pound fully armored lineman crashing into you at full speed.

Banging one’s head against a typewriter is hardly in the same class, not to mention really stupid.

Why would his wife not know what a typewriter is? They’re about the same age, so she probably saw/used one in her youth.

I’m so old that typewriters were a big part of my environment. Back then, everyone over the age of 2 knew what a typewriter was. Most kids had a chance to play with one now and then. I took typing class in high school and bought my own typewriter before that.

You can still buy typewriters on Amazon (and elsewhere I’m sure). Even manual ones. And I also took 2 years of typing in high school. Two of the most useful courses I took, given the amount of time I spend in front of a computer screen.
