Live sports are basically the only reason I have cable, and once the NFL season is over with, I might drop it. Unless the Wizards start playing better.

Movies without commercials is the only reason I have cable. I might give it the old heave ho myself, too. It’s it is expensive.

But, Grandad, there hasn’t been any “arts” on the Arts and Entertainment channel in a long time; it’s all “Duck Die-Nasty” marathons!

Real life is the reason I don’t have cable – don’t need it.

Wow Gramps, let the kid go outside. You watch the cable. I keep mine for the dvr but I may have to give it up for a more affordable option.

HDTV antennas are supposed to draw in enough channels that one can get rid of cable. Anybody tried one?

We bought a $30 antenna, and get 70 channels here 30 miles north of Atlanta. N.B., 10 of those are radio stations, 10 more are Spanish- or Korean-language, 10 more are shopping channels, 10 more are religious programming, and 10 are test patterns. Nevertheless, that leaves around 20 channels with conventional English-language programming. We still have DirecTV on three televisions – my wife is addicted to some house buying shows available only on cable/satellite – but the rest of the tvs are antenna.
