Hello again tomorrow’s a big day at State Fair have to be earlier not 15 min’s late. When you read this Doc Toon I don’t get extra hours. One who works pt am she worked in my place. Has to miss time or otherwise end of years not far off will run out of hours, maybe then I can fill in, not sure cause I’m not letting boss know or Admin about on-line Jr. college. Where will you go for vacation? I almost said let me on your fun then thought your type of fun may not be mine.

On one text book if I have to go to Dr.s I might understand better. I’m not going to apply any to me. Just been very interesting reading and I’m learning, Thankfully I won’t have to memorize some of text’s I will receive in future only ones I’ll have to know what will be in future. I hope Little Sister is doing fine and jarlyddie though be interesting to find out what grade she is in.

Well 29th of this month. I applied at District Court for Clerk II, they advertise for a whole week until 4pm. Must have received 100 application’s or more. Don’t know what number I fall into but have interview on the 29th. Then there will be a test to see how smart applicants are. I doubt I’ll get it. This one is not lateral transfer. Where I work at is closely with this type of position. Though I’m classified as an Office Specialist/Receptionist. Clerk II position is full time my current only pt. I’m so glad of spell check.

I also applied at Drug Court had phone interview so I’m not sure if that will come through. But one answer to a question I’m prepared fo if I ever get asked again.

It would be nice if that works out Kab!

Not sure. Job market is so bad. I’m not a fool either. I’ve applied there a few times. Not gonna give up on-line totally different from what I’ve done before.

One question I remember them asking before. If I where a supervision how many times should an employee be late? I said they shouldn’t be, though one never knows when a car won’t start or flat tire. Or one gets sick suddenly.

How would some of you answer this question I was asked. For me I’ve been hired on so I need to be there on job on time. Doesn’t hurt to have a back up vehicle though if one can’t afford it i would be in trouble.

Getting close to my lunch time then the rest. I have to wait until Monday now for computer tech guys see what they can do for Disconnect scanner. This is really a pain. The machine is suppose to read bar codes and seperate sections. Like when you go to auto parts or retails for whatever products and barcodes on products cash register is suppose to read. Otherwise clerk has to inter code. And I can’t do this on each document. I can do miminal entering when bar code comes up. I’ll try to catch later today. Mean time BBS enjoy your Birthday today. I hope your kids have something special planned for you.

Sister Kab in answer of your question: Maybe only once or twice should an employee be late, but with a good reason. Any other time may require a doctors note, but I am learning that in this world excuses for being late aren’t going to be tolerated for long and wont get you anywhere but back to the unemployment line. Plus I believe it goes on your record permanently, so that if you try to get a job somewhere else, then it might not look good for you once that company starts to look over your file, and as a result you might not get hired……….But that’s just my opinion

I think one thing an employer takes into account is how often it happens. Twice in one week versus twice in one year, would probably be handled much differently. Also, did the employee call in and let his/her boss know that they would be delayed?

@Rmom, Little Sister, it also depends: twice in one week after a year without any might cause the boss to keep a close eye, while twice in the second week of work would be a lot more serious.

And I agree about the phone call–they can be a really good idea so the Boss knows the problem, and that you’re, say, not just sleeping in.

Just looked out: now it’s definitely heavy frost falling from the sky–and even starting go build up on lawns and trees and roofs and suchlike. Roads and sidewalks still clear, if wet, at the moment.

Summers ending, but that’s okay because I like the Autumn season.

Hello all I’m trying to get used to a lap top now. BBS I’m glad you had a nice BD. And Saucy WOW what a nice tribute of a poem. My dad wished us to keep on going before he left us.

I think some of you misunderstood. For me working pt in this dept. I’m never latel, means nothing only full time workers get acknowledge for great attendance. I’m referring to a question that will get asked: If I where the supervisior how many absenses or lateness should be tolerated? For me I have a fantastic record no recogniztion. And dept requires future employers to check with HR for employment verfication.

Kab, I hate laptops. I have one at the office but I have a docking station. Usually when I’m on the road though, I don’t have the luxury of connecting with a docking station, therefore have to use the laptop keyboard which I can’t stand using.

I would never own one at home.

Our reasons for lap top frees main computer. I will be using this for classes. While I get use to this hubby is on main computer. Jarlyddie glad your weeks is over to. Taken all evening to find out how to work this. My work desk at dept. no lap top. Grog want to hear something funny. The brand new computer I was suppose to get and boss gave to Admin. Assist after two weeks of use it died. They had to get Dell tech to work on it and now still needs worked on. Admin Assist does personel things, payroll, and bookkeeping etc. I can’t say more on how much more she needs computer give to much away. Mean time I’m waiting until Mon for Disconnect scanner. I went through some recorded documents where I could check what I did. So far found out I could scan couple documents then check for On-Base (I don’t expect people to know what I’m talking about) anyway I made a correction with limited use.

Everyone don’t know if I will be on if I can get up early enough I might skim commics. Have to be earlier at fair. Otherwise have a great Saturday.
