Sorry…. Cleo being in it doesn’t count as a difference.

Not unless she’s in one panel and not the other….

in which case…. what puzzle are you looking at?

Cleo, the gentleman would like to rest his weary bones after a long trip. You can get onto his lap after he sits.

This hotel lobby appears to have a very bright skylight. How is that possible with twenty floors above? Solatubes were not invented yet. IMWTK!

As for Ballard’s Pet Sounds, I need a soundtrack to be sure, but I suspect there is not a lot of harmony going on here. Very 21st century.

And as always No Peeking and sneaking back to Aug 5 2016 wouldn’t do you any good because while it’s the same Hopper it ain’t the same puzzle.

At least, we shouldn’t keep a piano with working keys and a soundboard.

Dennis…. yes, the lobby is quite bright, isn’t it?

In fact, I remember that we were here once before, and it was much more dim.

Perhaps they have installed a skylight since that visit.

It’s possible that this is the sort of building where the lobby, with its very high ceiling, extends out towards the street, with no floors above.

Or perhaps there’s a light soffit in that section of wall….

did they do that in 1943?

All I know is, the room is way brighter, and the colors stand out more.

    Perhaps Nighthawks can explain.

And as for the pet symphony….

you should be glad the strip doesn’t have an audio track.

    ᴘʀᴇsᴇɴᴛs

    ANOTHER HOPPER! YEA

“OS Writer’s Block Non Solution Special”

       1.  Top panel: Man is Royal Tannenbaum, Sr. telling his sister they’re been evicted. Bottom panel: Man is time-traveling Nighthawks giving weekly assignments to time-traveling StelBel.

       2.  Top: Cleo is thinking, “How do you get an Uber from Indianapolis to Cleveland?" Bottom: Cleo is waiting for Barky to finish warming up the audience so she can play Bagatelle in A minor, WoO 59 (‘Für Elise’).

       3.  Top: Man is explaining that the couple’s ‘57 Studebaker has broken down and they’ll have to share an Uber with Cleo. Bottom: Man is explaining that cheapskate producers of C&C won’t pay for lunch, he left his wallet in the room, and, well … .

       4.  Top: Woman with yellow hair is thinking, “This is the last time I buy a home hair dye kit that’s past its expiration date”. Bottom: Woman With Yellow Hair is wondering, “I paid for the Picasso Fantasy Package – why am I in a Hopper painting?”.

       5.  Top: Man is telling woman, “The Indianapolis Museum of Art won’t buy this piece unless I add a damn dog to it.” Bottom: Man is telling woman, “It’s no use – we’re doomed to stay in Indianapolis for all eternity.”

6-9.  Highly technical. Only Perkycat, whose favorite coffee is a really Strange Brew ; Montanalady, who’s already spent an hour looking for the “Do Not Touch” button; Susanshine, who knows the difference between POOF! and Ka-BOOM!!; and StillTheBelleOfTheBall, a/k/a The Muse of Rotty Tailwagger, would understand.

Not only did I NOT find the “Do Not Touch” button, but I only found 8 differences! Harrumph! I really don’t think anyone can find that last one. NH, you are soooo TRICKY!

Now that I got that off my chest, this was a fun puzzle to solve. Glad I had 15 minutes to spare.

As always, thanks to Susan and X-Tech for your links. Couldn’t do it without your help. Okay, thanks, too to Nighthawks for being the MasterMind behind this all.

If you found 9 in 2017, this should be a snap, since the locations of 7 of them are the same, and the other 2, I think, are easier to spot.
