Jonas: only twelve days 'til thanksgiving turkey louie!
CC: jonas will you remember who you're talking to please?!
CC: he could dehydrate if you plant that thought too early!!
Jonas: my bad.sorry. my bad.
It’s a matter of instinct,
A matter of conditioning,
A matter of fact,
You can call it Pavlov’s dog,
Ring a bell and I’ll salivate,
How’d you like that?
Dr. Landy, tell me,
You’re not just a pedagogue,
Cause right now I’m,
Lyin in bed, just like Brian Wilson did…
MoPar Allan with an A is on a church retreat. He made reference to it yesterday.
And only twleve days until Thanksgiving? A friend of mine will be thrilled, I on the other hand, will become panic stricken ,as I have to cook! And one of my guests is vegan. So I have to cook two things. Where do you get a Toftrukey? I wonder if Louie would eat Tofturkey?
Jonas has done it now! Will the turkey make it into the oven? Will the turkey make it out of the oven? Will the turkey make onto the table? OR will all of the above never happen as the turkey will be digesting thru Louie.
Dry…
You don’t ” have to cook Two things”
just have lots of tasty side dishes, Pumpkin Soup, Parsnips and Carrots, Roasted Vegetables and of course have PIE ! lots of PIE !
Always works for me…
Dry,
I also have a friend who is vegan. She loves “nut roast”.
Go to www.veg-world.com/nutroast.htm and see if that might work for you. They are pretty easy to make and there are no strange ingredients.
My favorite old movie line about turkeys is from _By the Light of the Silvery Moon _ (Gordon McRae and Doris Day). Each family member opens the oven door just a crack to take a look and a sniff. The father asks when it will be ready. The housekeeper says, “I don’t know, I’ve never tried to cook one with the door open before!” That’s my traditional Thanksgiving movie.
I will be very thankful for Thanksgiving. Everything I see in the stores are Christmas items and all I hear is Christmas music. May Thanksgiving not become the lost holiday!
Ahoy crew
as a Canuck, i had thanksgiving 3 weeks back.
as a Canuck with two nephews living in the U.S. there will be thanksgiving again in 12 days when they come home for the weekend to visit their Mom. make the best of both worlds, i say.
I think I can vouch for most Canadians as I am one myself that Halloween does not get mixed up with our Thanksgiving….our Thaksgiving is the same day as your Columbus Day. There is quite a gap between the two holidays but even if that were the case it would really just makes for a more festive occasion all round…don’t you think?
Canadian Thanksgiving does not have the history behind it our fellow Americans enjoy. Our country is a good century younger than yours. However…back to Louie…all turkey is good…left over or not….side dishes leftover or not…and nut roast ditto.
