JUMBOBRAIN the AMAZING MENTALIST makes the FOLLOWING PREDICTIONS>>>

Dick Tracy’s new adventure will make no logical sense.

The plot will advance at a mind-fryingly slow pace.

Panels and lines of dialog will be repeated over and over.

Matters like characterization and the passage of time will be ignored.

Gocomics.com readers will blast each day’s strip, and yet no response from the creators or TMS will be forthcoming.

    SEEEEEEEE if I’m WROOOOOOONGGG

I love the first panel. I don’t find the way the women look very much like Chester Gould’s style.

That’s what I was thinking. I’m guessing a Dick Locher/Jim Brozman leather jacket would fetch a pretty penny!

Or a very weirdly drawn penny.

You can read “Lil’ Abner” strips from the ’50s at http://mycomics.com/. With any luck the idiots who produce this garage that they call “Dick Tracy” will take the clue…but I doubt it.

Wonder how this will compare to Judge Parker’s storyline. Their last arc started on 9/21 and now we’re at sometime in the afternoon (he’s also trying to solve a murder).

JumboBrain will be correct - That is MY prediction.

Bonnie Braids left without saying goodbye. How rude! I’ll bet it’s because she didn’t want them to find out she had been maxing out their credit cards.

Let not your hearts be troubled, there is a PIG of sorts coming up just ahead ! But can’t say if it’s related to our “Pig on Wheels”, or if it will win any affection ! ;)

Now that Dick is happily en-sconced back at his new “operating” base (i.e.Home), “Acting Chief” Tess will again likely point him to his new assignement. Note, already her finger is poised.

If as I expect it follows recent precedence, someone should send it in as an entry to - “They’ll Do It Every Time”!

Sad thing is that this repeating cycle conveniently keeps Sam, Lizz (intentionally perhaps?) out of the story and even gender man Teevo is hampered in delivery of those “nonsense” messages. Perhaps, that’s why he was transfered to more constructive duties over in “Homicide”(?)

Hooray ! For “Lone Wolf” Tracy, our reflective, ineffective detective !

And some readers wonder if Locher has pressed the “Death” thumb on Sam Catchem (?)

@fourracin: The rest of us were wondering that too actually. Sam has not made an appearance in the strip in over a year. Instead we have characters like Agent Eminem, who Locher spent a week introducing so she could deliver a line of exposition, then stand around with Tracy for months.

Look, if you’re just rediscovering Tracy, take my advice and run away now. If you don’t the daily indignation of seeing people get paid to churn out this ghost of a good comic strip will have you hooked, and you’ll be stuck churning out nasty comments. I used to have a job and a nice house, and now I bum quarters and go into the library every day to post this stuff.

    fourracin,

    See my question above !

Sam hasn’t “appeared” in the strip for over a year. Last date October 3, 2008 (early part, Braces/Traze-R story).

One gets the sense that for whatever reason Locher seems determined to dismantle the Major Crime Squad and eliminate all it’s member (can’t think of an upside). He’ll likely to hold on to one though - Junior, who was changed to look like his dead son John (a one time Art Assistant).

He’s slowly but relentlessly killing off the “house” of HQ characters Chet Gould bequethed. And for no logical reason (?) He can’t even find apt replacements.

He’s becoming like a “Reverse-Goldfinger” in Dick Tracy. Every good thing his finger “touches” perishes. Even the 300 newspaper circulation he inherited. Down 83% to 50 in 12 years.

What a record of non-accomplishment ! And he’ll blame TMS and everyone and everything - but himself. He’s in the wrong bubble !

    WaitingMan,

The Locher defenders will seem to agree but shockingly they won’t find one iota of fault with Locher. With all this “Crapo” his work is seen as “superb” (cockeyed?) and one Mattie is even drawing a “Batman style” comic strip as a tribute to him.

    It takes all sorts

Hmmm…. We’re looking at the back of a shadowed individual, reporting a missing person. I suspect that they are reporting themselves as missing, for whatever motive is about to be presented.

    Mattie,

You were “hiding” that part of your Tribute to Chet Gould, First time I’m hearing about it. Yes, back on October 4, everything was Dick Locher - later, when I talked of Bob Kane you dissed him and seemed to “add” in Dick Sprang.

Chet sounds like a “today” after thought, after everyone has kicked this rubbish Circus story like a rusty can down main street. Not even a peep of a critique from the Woodstock Brigade (?)

TMS may have their faults, but the biggest is retaining Locher after this Circus sacrilege in the great Dick Tracy strip. It’s a hang your head in shame offering.

Glad to help out with the plug Mattie, in this “guava” (recession) season you need it !

    morrow,

If it has anything to do with his trial strips, it’s got to be Water World. At least the girl has a novel, attractive appearance and some elements of a likeable pixey type “personality. More than I can say for characters in modern Tracy, and the stiffish, gender challenged Teevo’s of Locher’s new world.

In the meantime, the Batman type tribute strip isn’t going anywhere.

On the other hand, maybe you’re just putting the knife IN, and turning it. (i.e. titivating his ego before Ms.Wrinkles’ guillotine ?) ;-p

Don’t quite know why I did it but I clicked on Mattie’s link above !

Good Lord man, if that’s what you look like you badly need a shave. By no means does it add the French mystique of creating masterpieces up in a loft. Cultivating the mouth and chin hair seems to reflect an inner struggle with self to gainr artistic attention and recognition./ Forget the inner histrionics and those outward hairy manifestations of them.

Try to be nice to people. You reap what you sow. Conflict and abuse comes back like a Magpie slam in the face wrapped in your favorite Red sweater. Don’t foolishly defend false profits

And as I said above, “Water Word” has possibilities with a little more focus to carry it a step beyond just “the froviliyties pecotious early teen that’s in trouble everyday. Tell your writer. time for some serious themes to start emerging and she can spark a little interfearance to take it up to a higher level

And forget the other strip !

    Best of luck!

Thanks for your answer and all that good info., which brings up something else. I don’t care to much for the new actor playing our hero. It’s not the same guy that it was when it was in our paper. I’ve never seen Dick get so scared as he was in the cage. But then I guess I wouldn’t hold up to good myself.

    Thanks, again
