Patty is sitting on the back of the chair in the bedroom as Violet sits on the floor by the bed looking at a book. Patty asks, "Why don't we chip in, and get Charlie Brown something for his birthday?"<BR><BR> They go down the stairs and she continues, "We could buy him a football or a hockey stick.."<BR><BR> She continues as they put on their coats, "Or else we could get him something 'useful'..." Violet asks, "You mean something to wear?"<BR><BR> She smiles as they walk down the lane and Patty replies, "That would be a dirty trick, wouldn't it?"<BR><BR>

This strip is from Jan 11, 1952. That was my 5th birthday. So, if Charlie Brown’s birthday is actually in October, you can celebrate mine instead. I’m now 75 and clothes would suit me just fine! lol Just think, you could buy gasoline for 20 cents a gallon back then. I remember back in the 60’s filling my car up for $2.80! Wow, us old timers and our memories!
