Charlie Brown stands watching Schroeder go through music sheets. He says, "It would have been fun to have played a duet.. <br> <br>; Schroeder stands in a chair looking through the sheets. He says, "Sure, it would have..but I've looked through all the music catalogues, haven't I?"<br> <br> He continues, "I even called the library..I'm sorry Charlie Brown.."<br> <br> He concludes, "I guess nothing has been written for piano and notched-stick.." They both look down at the sticks in Charlie Brown's hands. <br> <br>

That always strikes me as a strange construction: “would have been fun to have done”
Are you saying that your pleasure in remembering having done that would be over by now?
