Correction:
The writings of Thales of Miletus recorded that static electricity was discovered from rubbing amber as early as 600 B.C. Later in 1600, William Gilbert coined the term “electricity” from the Greek word for amber. He also was the first to use the phrase “oh snap” when he shocked his assistant.
