My theory – Excess “positively” charged ions – aka cations – have been shown to cause depression. Petting a dog generates “negatively” charged anions, which chase the cations. Of course, so does petting a cat. Of course, there’s always unconditional love, too.

When I cry(I suffer from depression,) my poodle licks my eyes then up my nose! And believe it or not he snaps me out of it!
