Reminds me of how “Star Trek Voyager” needed a quick way to get the lost spaceship rescued, so they had the future Captain Janeway come back in time to bring them new technology to bring them home. I was impressed with how they simply blew off the enormous contradictions of it all. But Kate Mulgrew is now on some other show, and the years have not been kind. Where is time travel when you really need it?
The best way not to gain weight is to travel into the future, eat the pie there, then return to the present where you haven’t consumed the calories yet! I’ll call it “Wait, Watchers.”
Remember when Calvin tried to get his homework from his 2-hour-later self? Hobbes got him probably his first A+ ever by chronicling the tomfoolery of it all.
He actually stole it from a different branch of the spacetime continuum so that there is no real loop, just an alternate reality where someone baked the pie and had it disappear on them.
Wibbly-wobbly, Timey-wimey. He forgot to reverse the Polarity of the Neutron flow. That way your pie is done before you even think of it. PLUS there is the Distinct Possibility of ripping the fabric of the Space-Time Contiuum bringing about the end of the Universe 1000 years earlier than predicted – But Its STILL a Darn good PIE!
This is called the Djinn effect – where information (or organized/processed matter) appears out of nowhere. It plagues some, but not all time travel theories. See “The New Time Travelers” [http://www.amazon.com/New-Time-Travelers-Journey-Frontiers/dp/0393060136/ ] for an excellent overview of current theories among physicists. For instance, in the multiverse theory, time travel creates a branch universe, and transfers matter between branches – in one branch the pie does get baked, and then gets transferred to the branch where it doesn’t.
Nobody seems to have realized that Pam does not have a time machine. In the August 31 strip Brewster almost bought a time machine until he came back in time and told himself not to buy it because he hardly ever uses it.
@pschearer — I watch “NTSF:SD:SVU” and love it! I think she’s great on it. Always thought of her primarily as a dramatic actress, but she handles the comedy pretty deftly. Yes, time does not stand still even for starship captains; look at Shatner.

And exactly how will the pie that you just brought back get baked?

Does a pie from the future that was never created have any calories?

I want to go BACK in time, slap myself and say, “Don’t marry her!” (refering to my ex-wife, not present).

If I traveled in time two days into the future and brought doughnuts back to today, would they still be day-old bakery?

I’m guessing that he bakes a pie after the show, just to be safe.

Another virgin of himself baked the pie from an alternate universe. You can not go forward in time in your own reality. Just saying.

It’s a pie-adox. If it’s a pear pie, then it’s a pear-adox.
If the Doctor meets himself, then it’s a pair o’ Docs.

Visit the Restaurant at the End of the Universe – where you can pay before you even knew you wanted to go there.
