Not only is it deliberate, it’s mandatory. Without making the customer feel like an idiot, you haven’t made them vulnerable enough to suggest that your product will remove their idiocy.
Plus it shows what a bunch of humorless farts these company execs are.

@cdward. I agree that may be the intent, but I (and others) get the message that only idiots would bother to buy whatever it is.
They depend on low self-esteem, to sell.
I’ve been wondering about this, myself. Moreover, why do they make it look like the people who use the product are idiots?
