Thomas Albert Wilson was born in Grantown W.V. on Aug.1 1931. He passed away in his sleep on Fri. Sept. 16. He was 80 years old.
This was an amazing man who will be sorrowly missed by all who knew and loved him. Bless you for all you’ve done for so many. Rest in peace ’ol friend.
You’re a moron, Kevin. Tom Wilson is the artist who created Ziggy. (His son does it now.)RIP, Tom Wilson. You are greatly admired, and thank you for your contribution to society. Ziggy is quite a legacy.
The world has lost a great man in Tom Wilson, Sr. My thoughts and prayers go out to Tom Jr. and his family with the passing of his father. Ziqqy has always been an inspiration to me when I was down and out. Keep up the good work Tom and I am sorry for your lost.
My condolences to the Wilson family, and to comic readers everywhere affected by this loss—almost all of us. May “Ziggy” live on for years to come through Tom II.
Though I’m not a regular reader of Ziggy, my condolences to Tom Wilsom’s family and loved ones. Ziggy’s been such a mainstay of the comics page for so long, and may the comic continue to bring joy to its readers even after its original creator’s death.
Tom Sr. and Ziggy make me feel that life is worth living each and every day.Ziggy is the eternal optimist. My day is not complete without my “Ziggy fix”. Thanks again Tom Sr. and thank you Tom Jr.

Heatcliff is more lazy than expensive. He would most likely make friends with the mouse and keep it as a pet.
