At least Michael is up front about being nosey.

You look any harder, Elly, and that eye’s gonna pop out. Besides, Michael is your best spy. It’s normal for a kid to be overly curious. You should know better.

I am sure Elly is counting on Phil and the mystery lady being much too interested in each other to notice the slight movement of the curtains.

A teenager coming home from a date in front of the girl’s house might be a different story. Then I suspect one eye might stay open to what was happening at the window.
