What is your favorite robot?

The robot from ’Lost in Space."Yeah, yeah, dreadful program. But, as I recall, the first robot (movie or TV) that obeyed the three laws.

Robbie the Robot! from Forbidden Planet. He could make anything.

My favorite robot from a favorite movie: Robby the Robot in “Forbidden Planet.” Interestingly, both Robby and x_Tech’s favorite, the Lost in Space robot, were built by the same guy. Robby guest starred (guest machined?) in a couple of LiS episodes.

K-9 from Doctor Who!

All the above are great robots, but for more “real life” stuff, I like all the robots on “Myth Busters.” I’m also a fan of the fighting robots on “The Big Bang Theory.”

Elly* — my very own Roomba carpet sweeper, from iRobot. She does twice as a good a job as my kids do and complains half as much.

*We named her after “Cinderelly” — the mice’s nickname for Cinderella in the Disney movie.

I liked Huey, Dewey and Louie from “Silent Running.”

You can’t beat R-2 D-2 and C3PO, unless of course you use K-9. What a good dog robot he was.

Does Hal count as a robot? Actually, I hated him, he freaked me out!

I would also have to say Rosie! Then R2D2 and C3PO.

Toss up between Robby the Robot and his Brother B9 from Lost in Space for # 1 spot, followed by C-3PO & R2-D2 from Star Wars & Maria from Metropolis for # 2 slot
