I’m pretty sure in P1 that the coach is throwing a wrench at the kids, like the scene out of Dodgeball. “If you can dodge a wrench, you can dodge a ball.”
I agree. When the team drops to 0-7, they know it isn’t their talent that is bringing them down… it’s the coaching. I would watch your backside, Coach Hat and Jacket in the background.
So, will Brody get to kick a insignificant FG in the last game in a losing effort? Time to put this storyline to bed. Wildat must really be stewing as we haven’t heard from him lately.
I’ll write the ending so we don’t have to wait. Deke gets Wildcat hot and bothered about Brody’s kicking so he complains about Gil, only to have “my boy Bobby” and the rest of the players tell Wildcat and Deke to get lost. Brody then kicks the winning FG to salvage a 1-8 season! Everything is done by the end of the week.
Has to practice for three weeks before he can play in a game, that is going to be cutting it close for their final game, no playdowns this year Playdowns? Playdowns?

Still no sign of Mr. Abro. No wonder Brody is turning to Gil as a father figure.

I think part of the problem is that Gil is using cardboard figures of the Maytag Repairman as coaches.

Wildcat is Brody’s biological father. Gil reunites them after Brody kicks winning 64 yd fg and gets scholarship to State with half-brither Bobby.
