Only to be followed by Jon — “oh, the horror! the horror!” — Stewart!

If Jeff’s tour makes a big enough splash, then does anybody here think Obama would offer to have a beer with him (under heat lamps, of course) in the Rose Garden? If so, then would Becca herself appear with Jeff? I for one would LOVE to see Trudeau’s depiction of the interaction of those three about our country’s fate in Afghanistan — “the graveyard of empires”!

As someone who’s never heard of any of those media personalities, I haven’t the faintest idea what this is all supposed to mean.

Jeff is all our wayward children. The world was a safer place when we let them play with hot rods. As it is now they have to join the military to get machines to play with. Interesting, powerful machines. And to make sure they don’t make a mess of our neighborhood, we always send them to some cheaply-made, under-developed, ie, helpless, part of the world to play with their cool toys.

It’’ llbe alright. We’ve weaned the short-synapsed ones to the computer…of course, they figured how to fly planes re motely in those ‘safe’ zones to play kill and break games with real humans. Darn.Maybe we should encourage more raw muscle-machine games here, so it’d be harder to get people in the service…?

I don’t know about all news outlets seeing him as a fiction writer and nothing more. I am certain Fox would see him as quite serious.

    Jon Stewart ‘ultra-left wing’???

All he does is show the right wing nuts as the nuts that they they are, very often in their own words.

Besides, Stewart is not above taking a shot at someone on the left it is deserved.

Jeff has to do the interviews in Sorkh Razil attire. It won’t work any other way! Brings out his inner demons. Sword and all! Another Darth Vader with a sword instead of light saber.

“… nobody will buy Jeff’s book.” I’m more worried that too many people will buy it, that Jeff’ll write more, sell more, make movies, etc., get rich (cf J.K. Rowling), & become an insufferable reich-wing grench.

In the movie GIANT, the James Dean character, Jett, strikes oil and becomes super-wealthy, despite being a Jeff-like jerk. It happens, folks, it happens. And Trudeau could use Jeff to illustrate a wealthy rech-wing jerk like Jett Rink of GIANT.

Naa, he’d get to make the rounds on FauxNoise with other great fiction authors like Bill O’Reilly (I loved his “Bill O’Reilly Killing Lincoln” book —credit due to Jon Stewart). After all, facts are virtually meaningless at Faux, particularly when they don’t fit the corporate/ultra-right wing conservative view. I think Jeff’s book will do fine there!

“And if you DID actually dress him in a little black dress, welllllllllllllll……………..” Doing so would spoil his schtick. Becca wouldn’t permit it. After all, her Random House treasury department is funding the tour.

Tigger? Sorry to pop in here, but are you happy that her network may fail?

__I haven’t seen her show in close to a decade… but she seemed like a very decent person. She’s obviously made a bundle of money, should be a right-wingers hot dream… right?.She is, and has employed a bunch of people so… she’s a “job creator”… right?.If you don’t like her… why?

As would I. They would lap him up like cream.

“John Steward — ultra leftwing”??! Oh yes, that’s an American talking. I find him mildly liberal.

“Charlie Rose — liberal”??! Oh well, sort of. I haven’t caught him saying anything i violently disagree with.

Sorry, I should have mentioned that I spoke as a Canadian. I don’t know enough about Australian politics to know what the words “liberal” and “Liberal” mean there.

In Canada we have a federal party called the Liberal party. Which in our last federal election, a year or so ago, for the first time in Canadian history, slipped down to third place in popularity.

The word “liberal” would require a fair amount of discussion for several people to agree on what they were using it to mean, and (sigh, yawn), it’s late and I’m very tired. So I bow out.

A few years ago I discovered, to my horror, that the word “feminist” had changed its meaning when I wasn’t looking, and now seemed to be taken to mean “hates men”! and it wasn’t the only word whose meaning I thought I knew that had snuck out on me. So I do try not to use these “dangerous cognates”.
