This is the honest truth. I had a TV years ago that was acting up badly. I took it apart and had tubes tested, checked every connection I could see. I put it all back together and it was the same as before. I said, Well when all else fails, and smashed my fist down on the top of that TV, hard enough to bust it for good. You guessed it, The picture came in fine and it work fine for several years.
I once was the custodian of a storage trailer full of the original Compaq “portable” computers. In the owner’s manual of one, someone had written in, at the end of troubleshooting section, “If above steps fail to correct issue, elevate unit 6 to 8 inches above a solid surface and release.”
