Kyle gritted his teeth together and sucked in a sharp intake of breath as he surveyed the neat list of figures that now ranged down the length of his notepad. Every single kibble, down to the smallest bit, was underweight. Not severely underweight, oh no, the discrepancy was typically two or three per cent, never more than five per cent. But it was consistently under, not a single one was over. That son-of-a-b%%%% in the Senior Citizens’ Center parking lot had been ripping him off for the last three months solid, every single freaking hit! S%%t!
With Kyle it wasn’t the money. He was cool with handing over street prices for high grade merchandise. But someone was making a first-rate prize jackass out of him, and nobody did that. No one has ever played the Kylester for an easy mark and got away with it. “That jerk’s gonna get a sweet sweet payment tonight” he muttered as he pulled his retractable tape measure out to a length of six inches. He considered his opponent’s scrawny build and made a jabbing motion with the little metal ruler. “Yeah that oughta do it” he thought, as he opened a drawer and moved something from it into his right hand sock. He tossed the pencil and ruler onto the desk and switched out the light as he made for the door.
It’s OK E60. I was just about to add that after that day, the Arts And Crafts salesman who ran the stand in the Senior Citizens’ Center parking lot never gave bad measures again, after some crazy old guy waved a 6 inch 20 million candlepower flashlight in his face and mouthed off about the lumps of Plaster Of Paris he’d been buying from him to build a replica of the St. Louis Arch. So it all worked out OK for everyone in the end. :-)
