Ahhhhh….finally this increibly creative team is apparently spreading their wings narratively speaking into something bigger than “villain of the month” (thunder child episode for example)—-this is really wonderful and seems much more Gouldian in terms of the development and hopefully duration length of the story…..
I still think Kassie doesn’t know Mumbles is behind her uncle’s disappearance. (She just has really bad taste in men.)I’m sure Mumbles is looking to marry her for her inheritence, and then mulch her, too!Stan, Vince and Roy might do better just to get out of town – waaay out of town. Of course, maybe Mumbles’ romance isn’t part of Mr. Crime’s master plan…Just have to toon in tomorrow!
Don’t know quite why, but “gut feeling” here has changed from Mumbles biting the big one, to getting out of this somehow, maybe even getting away. Call it a hunch I suppose.
If “the boys” call HQ (Panda) with that number, and get back an OK from Mr Crime, they may be commissioned to take out Mumbles. Whether they would succeed is problematic. Kassie Ette’s part in all this is not yet clear, but I expect she will stand by her man, even to the point of blasting a few of the quartet. One way or another, things are heating up! I hope Tess and Johnny don’t find themselves in the middle of a gang war!
hmm.. i didnt count the other three in the mumbles quartet as “villains”.. including them that brings the overall total (including kassie too) up to NINE… so theres a chance that THREE villains will survive the shootout mike told us about previously
From what I’ve learned, when Mike Kilian took over the strip in 1993, he couldn’t reference the Collins years at all, hence he ignored Max’s 1979 “Cloning of Mumbles” story and his strip appearance in 1990 in “The Dick Tracy Story” sequence. Trouble was, he also ignored Gould’s 1955 story in which Mumbles made his original comeback. In Kilian’s“alternate universe” Mumbles didn’t drown puncturing his life raft, a Canadian ore ship picked him up and he spent the following years working in the Canadian mines. The current team are wise to have ignored this one of a few canon violations which occurred during the Kilian years, I think.
There was a tv pilot made in 1967, it’s opening and closing credits are on YouTube. Yes, that’s Jan Brady and the actress playing Lizz ended up possessed by aliens in an episode of Star Trek.

Um.. bad decision guys. I think Mr. Crime and Co. operate by the rule, “Don’t call us, we’ll kill you.”
