I let my family sneak in to a movie once when I worked at the theater…but, in my (and their) defense, that’s after they had paid to see “Hereafter”…which I had seen before then for free and had STILL felt ripped off.

In other words, Paige and Nicole, get lost (hint, hint!)

My nephew was the guy who tore the ticket in half when you entered the lobby. The manager told him not to try to stop people from sneaking in because the theater only made a quarter from ticket sales (the rest went to the movie distributer et. al.) and a confrontation wasn’t worth it. The theater made it’s money from the concession stand.

One time when I was working podium, I noticed a group of boys who were peering around the corner at me a few times, and were acting all suspicious. So I alerted one of my managers to what was going on, and we caught them trying to sneak in without tickets and told them to leave instead.

The next day I was cleaning the halls with a co-worker and I saw the same boys get caught a second time by management, trying the same stunt, and this time they were escorted out the front doors.

I’m thinking it’s more that the movie/book writer snuck that in, and Amend just makes use of the opportunity :)

@Penny Robinson Fan Club – Lord Farqaad was the name of the villain in Shrek.

You know, the way Showplace 16 is set up, you could easily leave the room after you watched one movie and walk into any other one on that side (8 showing rooms on one side) and get 2 for 1. Or you could walk into a different one than you paid for.

Never tried it though. I’m too honest.
