R these water pistols or cap guns? It’s obvious the stakes aren’t life or death.

I guess I’m too late to hear their cracks at noon.

Not, of course, to be confused with the famous gunfight at C.S. Fly’s photographic studio (the corral was the next block behind, but sounded more “western”.) Fly was an early photo-journalist and took the picture of Crook’s negotiations with Geronimo in the Sierra Madre – with glass plate negatives!
