there is no mention of the apple hitting his head until the 20th century. he did use an apple metaphor though

Newton? Newton? Isaac Newton, you say? Oh, yes. Remember him now. Inventor of the cat door. That’s the fellow. Did some lesser work on gravity and such, as I recall.
