Nancy: Aunt Fritzi was just a kid like us when he did it--- Walking out onto the moon. She stay-ed up late-- Her dad wanted her to watch history. She says she never forgot it--- Mr. Armstrong walk-ed on the moon----- and changed the whole world. Sluggo: And now he's forever back up there in the stars.

Seems like every day, Nancy and her friends are remembering someone who has passed. That is a whole lot of seriousness for a comic strip which is mostly about kids.

Loads of our legends and familar faces are going to heaven. Thank You Guy for not forgetting them and giving them the honors they deserve. RIP to all that are gone, but never forgotten.

I remember the moon landing. It was the early hours of the morning here and I listened to it on a germanium radio with an earplug. Unforgettable.

Hats off to Mr Armstrong and the other pioneers. My dad let me stay up and watch it, too. And I usually like the tributes. Comics aren’t really written for kids anymore, anyway.

I remember the moon landing. My father sent me next door to my grand aunt’s house to turn her TV on for her. She had crossed the prairies in a covered wagon. And she watched the moon landing. She kept asking “What are they doing that for?”

Trying to wrap my head around the age differences… Fritzi is a baby boomer, but Nancy (looking 9-11 years old) is Generation Z?? Heheh. I so appreciate the fact that Nancy isn’t an Internet/game addict like many kids her age are these days!

Nicely said, gentlemen!

A wonderful tribute, I agree, but I’m dazed by the fact that you’ve just set Fritzi’s age at about 50.

Fritzi has been the same age since I first started reading the strip…back in the late ’50’s…so have all the other characters…in the Ernie Bushmiller years.

We were just back from a weekend in Wisconsin. I watched them a bit on TV, then went out on the porch and llooked at the full moon, imagining them walking there.

I remember sitting in the elementary school cafeteria watching.

All I had was a used B&W TV, and the horizontal hold started fluttering at the critical time! At least the sound held up.

Good strip guy/brad. I like these “Memorial strips” whenever they come out and it shows a strong reseblence to the Bushmiller style. This strip is family friendly too.

Right on my 11th birthday, Apollo 11 blasted off in their moon mission. Four days later, in out little town in SW PA, we all watched Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin walk on the moon’s surface. Great memories.

I think all of us that were alive on that day/night, remember where we were and what we were doing. I was at Cape May where the motel set up a projector and showed the transmission on a stretched bedsheet. when Neil’s boot hit the ground everybody looked up at a huge shining moon and cheered.

Thank you Guy and Brad. I look forward to seeing your tributes.

Thank you, everyone. Many of Fritzi’s memories, of course, are based on mine. I remember Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin and Mike Collins and that historic night very well. I have had the chance to thank Buzz personally. I could only thank Neil Armstrong this way. God bless them all.
