When I was a kid, it never occurred to me to do the “hold my breath” tantrum, but apparently, it did occur to my mom when she was a child. And my grandmother would simply flip a teatowel at her face, thus startling her and causing an instant intake of breath. She was a very practical woman, my grandmother.
