This strikes me as too true to be funny. I attended school all right, but I’d say most of my education took place at home, reading National Geographic and Encyclopedia Britannica, and watching and listening to my parents.

I didn’t like school, still don’t, but I admit I learned to read in school—not from my parents. And I can thank some great teachers who taught grammar, history and science and computer science in ways that ‘got through.’Most of what I know comes from my effort outside of class, but I DID learn in school.

School, particularly college, taught me that I could think. A friend taught me how to think. I’ve taught myself what to think about.

I learned in school and out…but our education system keeps declining now that schools are kind of forced to teach the government tests and make the mediocre seem exceptional.

I ran for Texas State Board of Education – the ones the cowardly schools across the nation let write their textbooks.I was on the ballot (not a write-in), but none of the corporate media would mention the fact. Eternal vigilance …

Ruthie perhaps why your not learning is your not paying attention to subjects teacher presents. When children do not listen then parents blame the teachers not their child what do you expect. Two or three states schools are planning to expand school session since the students are not learning as not paying attention.

Some of the blame lies at the foot of parents. My parents were involved in my education, but others are not so lucky. When the parent knows the top 10 songs list, but can’t tell you their kid’s teacher’s name, or at least one friend their kid has at school, there is a problem there.
