I’m not sure if Mike is trying to quote the book title or not; which is “Far From the Madding Crowd”.
Well, Far From The Madding Crowd does not match the scenario in this cartoon so he is probably referring to having come out from the crowded city we see in the background.
The lesson of both these is that, no matter how far you go, you can’t escape yourself.
