There use to be a comic SciFi hero named Bill the Galactic Hero, the story was that Bill got shanghied into the army and on his first mission Bill lost his arm and the medics replaced it with the arm of his best friend who was killed in the battle. Unfortunately all that was left of his friend was the same arm that Bill still had so he now had 2 left (or was it right?) arms so he could shake hands with himself. Incidently, Bill was caucasion and his friend was African American with twice the muscles Bill had.
