"Hey Martin, what're you doing?" "Whoa, where are your glasses?" "I don't need them." "I've conquered blindness. Glasses only made my eyes weak. I decided to man up and not wear them anymore." "In fact, I'm seeing so good right now, let's just do this..." SNAP FLING "There. Now if you'll excuse me, I've neglected my new lady friend long enough." "Where were we? Oh, hello, you didn't tell me you had a sister." "OK, yer right, he was talking to the flamingo."

I had a vain roommate who didn’t like to wear glasses. She got a reputation as aloof because she would ignore people on the street. No one realized she couldn’t see who they were. She finally broke down and got contact lenses. It changed her whole outlook on life (so to speak).
To me a woman wearing eyeglasses means she wants to enjoy the world around her enough to see it. A beauty is still a beauty with eyeglasses. Not everyone can wear contact lenses.

Some women look even better with glasses. I know that I can see them better with my glasses on. ;)

And here we are reminded that Martin is supposed to be of Asian descent.
In Americaville it was specified that he was born in Texas, but of Chinese origin. In C&B it is hinted occasionally, but I believe that was switched to Japanese.
