Kevin, you just don’t learn do you? Your humiliation conga would have ended with the apple on the head if you didn’t try to take “revenge” on the tree by throwing the apple at it, thus dislodging that beehive. And now your attempt to take revenge on the skateboard gave you a broken leg.

I was given crutches when my foot was injured due to a steel pole falling out of a closet onto my foot. I had to walk back to my dorm with the crutches. It was down a steep hill from the clinic. I quickly got the hang of the crutches and started taking huge strides with them, which was quite fun going down hill. Unfortunately the clinic forgot one of the bolts meant to hold the crutches together. Mid-stride (big swinging stride) the right side crutch folded in half. I tumbled to the ground and rolled quite bit. Fortunately it was on the right side and I fell onto the grass. Had it been on the left side I would have fallen onto the road. That would have been disastrous.

Is this end of the arc, and no cast next strip? Is this the beginning of a new arc about enduring the cast? Are we simply in the middle of the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day arc, and he’ll be in complete body cast before the disasters end?

Lesson you should remember for the rest of your life: NEVER try skate – boarding, if you don’t feel comfortable with it.

Any bets on how long it will be before this will all be forgotten and he’s skateboarding again?

Honestly, after the rest of the day, it’s probably good if he want to the hospital.

Many, many years ago I dropped something heavy on my large toe. The pain was intense; I went to a “Quick Med” place, where they determined I broke the toe, and brought in a young lady who was obviously in training; they showed her how to put a cast on my leg up to the knee. Later, after I got “They put you in a cast for a broken toe??” from several people, I went to a real hospital. They laughed when they saw it and removed the cast. Broken toes generally just heal by themselves. That Quick Med place closed not long after.

This was a fun ride, full of angst, horror and comedy! And interesting that there wasn’t a word of dialog throughout the whole thing.

Hmmm… Kevin appears to kick the skateboard with his right foot, but his cast is on the left foot. Is this cartoonist’s license? Enquiring minds want to know.
