Annnd we’re onto a new arc. But what I love about these last two arcs is they come from a familiar place. Granted the jingles arc went to a really bonkers place , but it also had both the idea of neighborhood legends and of missing that blasted ice cream truck. Here it’s your friends having seen adult movies your parents won’t let you. Both things I haven’t experinced but Tahuid clearly did. The latter isn’t a NEW concept but it works well for these characters.

When I was in my single digits, my mother would sometimes show me vulgar and edgy comedy films, usually starring black comedians. However, they would never let me watch Adult Swim.

Growing up, we were exposed to "off " humor but it went right over our heads! LOL

We only had 3 channels and had to get up to change the channels. LOLThey didn’t have such violent shows like that back then.

Arkansas has rolled back some of its laws against child labor. It’s worth noting that the kids attending the signing ceremony were not smiling.

I loved to sit in the hallway just out of sight and watch Johnny Carson thru his monologues. I got most of the humor, some was still a little too old for me. Once I reached teen years I just stayed up and watched it with mom and dad.

Given all the homework kids are getting at ever-earlier ages, it seems to me that school is pretty much a full time job nowadays.

My youngest watched Freddy at a friend’s after I told her absolutely no and explained to her that it would be upsetting to her. I was right. It haunted her for a long time.

Okay, it’s settled. If you get a full time job, you can watch “Chainsaw Cabin”.

It depends, if you were a lucky kid your parents had cable and if they were tech geeks they had an early C-Band Satellite Dish. An uncle had a satellite dish and I would watch the Disney Channel and Nickelodeon on sleepovers. Then towards the end of the 1980s my parents connected to Cable. I could not believe we had 30 channels.

Ah yes. The eternal struggle of youth trying to grow up too fast against parents trying to protect you and keep you from harm. This time is when we really started to hone our skills of subversiveness.
