Miles has something on his mind.

While I doubt it’s deep enough to be serious, pretty sure you’re supposed to leave it in until you get medical attention.

Miles really doesn’t want this to make the history books. Especially the part where he screamed like a little girl.

Historically hysterical.

It is possible to be historically hysterical. Or hysterically historical.

Hmm. Wait, Miles. I don’t think Kevin’s made his point yet.

This strip takes place in the 80s, theoretically, it could’ve resulted in all sorts of legal shenanigans ultimately resulting in shurikans being outlawed. Therefore making it historical.

I know it goes against the grain of comic writing, but why doesn’t Miles just pull it out himself?!

And so a new arc begins with the most common way possible: one of the boys getting injured.

This whole strip is hysterically historical.

Hysterical is via Latin from Greek husterikos ‘of the womb’, from hustera ‘womb’ (hysteria being thought to be specific to women and associated with the womb). There’s also a company called Hyster that makes forklift trucks. Not sure if that’s relevant or not.

I’m sensing hostility about this whole historical-hysterical thing. They are in need of some hospitality (perhaps a hospital “intervention”).

If you look back on the history of hysteria you’ll see they more often than not end hilariously.

if he’s hysterical he might need a hysterectomy…
