Presumably he can still indicate “I want to appeal” or “I’m okay with Kev”, either by writing or signalling. I’m not quite sure why Kevin looks so disconcerted.
For a couple of years, I was in several classes with two other Kevins. All of us had “M” names, but mine came first, and it’s a… slightly difficult name to try to pronounce on reading. So we’d get a substitute teacher who’d be doing rollcall.

Two Kevins? uh oh.

I’ve been wondering about that since noticing Kev wasn’t included in the speech balloon on the September 20th strip. Nice consistency there.

Does “non-verbal” translate to “punchy” in this case?

Let’s see how Kevin adjusts to a Kevin who doesn’t talk.

Another Kevin, huh? Know how that feels. I’ve got a couple of relatives that share my name, too.

I’m surprised Kevin knows what “non-verbal” means.

“Kevin?”
in unison “Which one?”
“Uh… Kevin… M?”
in unison “Which one?!”
“…Kevin… Kevin Mack… Mick… Muckbray… Mikbeer…”
“Oh, that must be me, present!”
