Speaking of off-putting, couldn’t this Pizza Monster bit have been put off until next year and the strip’s expected termination?

If someone else could take over the ‘Crankshaft’ franchise and allow Cranky to appear at least 3 days of every week in his own ‘toon, I’d be glad to pay good money for that…
