I have backyard chickens. A year or two ago one of my hens watched the cat using her kitty door and figured it ought to work for her too. The next morning while I was fixing breakfast a fat little Plymouth Barred Rock hen marched through the cat door and planted herself next to the cat. Both standing with identical poses, begging for breakfast scraps. So, I had to put a latch on the cat door since diapering a chicken just isn’t my thing. Chickens won’t be potty-trained.
