This reminds me of my dearly beloved deceased hubby. He was hopeless at untangling knots of any type. I have the relics of his weird solutions all about me. :)
I had a roommate who like fine-chain jewelry but pieces were always stored in a tangled pile instead of hung on a peg. One of my girlfriends picked one up and spent five minutes untangling the chain and handed it to my roommate, who promptly dropped it in a tangled pile on the table.
