Think of all the coins you’ll collect, girls!

Get her the fountain, folks throw coins in, voila – no need to give her an allowance. It’s a win-win!

Soon everybody will have one and the novelty will wear off.

I like the versimilitude of the last panel, with the thousand pieces of doll clothes and accessories covering all of creation. That could have been my sister’s room on any given day.

All you’ll get are petitions from the neighborhood in favor of removing the eye-sore.

When you’re four years old, big ugly things are just about the best things in the world.

When I was four, I wanted to give my Mom a big ugly plastic rose for Mother’s Day, and couldn’t be talked out of it. Mom ended up keeping it for 20 years…

of course she will change her mind, think of how many times you have had to rearrange the furniture because your spouse changed her mind

As someone who has a giant ugly fountain in the neighborhood, I’m getting a kick out of this storyline. People moved into a modest bedroom community a few years back, redid the house into a quasi-McMansion, and plopped this 10-foot tall monstrosity down which takes up half their front yard.

I’m only grateful that they live around the corner, instead of somewhere I’d have to look at it every day.

And no, I’ve never actually considered dropping any money into the fountain - which has never even been hooked up to the water! (So Alice needs to keep that in mind.)

In my neighborhood it could be mistaken for one more tacky, inflatable Christmas decoration. Anyone know where I can get some plastic flamingos with attached holiday lights – cheap?

I fully agree, openminded. Great detail.

Sure, it sounds like people would throw coins in the fountain, but these days probably not …. so Alice unless you want it to be he biggest birdbath in the neighborhood you better reconsider!
