Mom: I'm giving Andre a ride home now, so you two say goodbye! Andre: G'bye, Peteyman! It was cool hanging out! Thanks for everything and thanks for the diorama! SECRET HANDSHAKE! Petey: Yeah, sure, Andre! Alice: You gave him a diorama? Petey: I had to. He sat down on it and kept apologizing so much that I felt sorry for him.

Score: 1 diorama, lost; 1 arm, sore; 1 hyperkinetic friend, new. Not a bad day, on the whole, Petey!

So the ‘playdate’ was a success?

I love shaken Petey in panel two. That will take some recovery time.

OH NO! Petey losing a diorama is like the Museum of Natural History losing Egypt!

Petey loses a diorama, but gains the start of a personality, and has his empathy awakened, All in all, not a bad day.

Odd, but I always thought of ol’ Petey Pecker-Poot as being someone that would have an absolute meltdown if he was touched. I thought I had read it, but I guess that I just imagined or assumed it. Andre the Giant (for any old wrestling fans) almost tore Petey’s arm off. Oh well, it would save him the trouble of chewing it off! (btw, I know it’s Otterloop……or Potter-poop)
