Seriously, why do some people dislike their food touching another food on the same plate?

Just what Miss Bliss needs… a classroom full of picky eaters.

I must sometimes remind myself that, despite his precociousness and and old-beyond-his-years ways, Petey is only eight himself, and Alice four. His OCD-like mannerisms are a wonder to her, a point of pride for him. Miss Bliss, on the other hand, will just need to survive with her sanity intact….

First I would eat my vegetables, then my potatoes and gravy, followed by my meat.Oh yes, I was the master of my plate until the day my mom served stew….

The latter url is a support group for picky eaters of all persuasions. I’m not a picky eater myself, but have a few things I’m not wild about, like Russian tea, leek soup, and la sagna. (Who wants to waste one’s pasta-eating on a non-spaghetti substance?)

My daughter made a hole in the middle of her cerial and asked me to pour the milk so it was only in that hole and not touching rest of the cerial. She was crushed when that didn’t work out.

One of my friends bought me a set of metal army mess-hall trays for Christmas since I hate food that touches. What’s even more strange is that my brother bought me a set of nice china ones on the same Christmas! Guess they both know me well…

I eat lasagna in layers. But then again, I’ve always wanted to be an archaeologist.

A question for the picky eaters here – doesn’t the food get awfully cold when you eat only one item at a time? Also, how do you choose what goes first, second, etc.?

Drove me crazy when I ate TV dinners, and one of the peas got into the mashed potatoes. Arrgh! They weren’t supposed to touch!
