Beloved Polyfill? Alice, yesterday you threw her as a distraction sacrifice. How fickle you are!

That DOG is huge, hope granmama, has a large back yard?

I’m thinking Shirley is a schipperke!! Although in Alice’s mind she is MUCH bigger than real life!! Schips are all black, have pointy ears and long snouts, and many have no tails and are often mistaken for pot-bellied pigs.

I get my comics via email but clicked to come read the comments because I was totally wondering “what on earth kind of dog is that supposed to be???” and hoped someone would have a hint for me! I was not familiar with the schipperke, but I see now that Big Shirley certainly does look like one!

And you can’t really blame Big Shirley, Alice — remember, Polyfill IS actually a dog toy! (as your mom explained to you in the strip we saw Nov. 14)

Alice, how can you be so mean to that sweet Doggie right in front of your granny? You threw Polyfill at her and biffed her nose, and now you refuse to play fetch? Shame! No pumpkin pie for you tomorrow!
