Petey: Rutherford B. Hayes? Petey: Rutherford B. Hayes? Petey: Rutherford B. Hayes? Petey: Rutherford B. Hayes? Petey: Rutherford B. Hayes? Dill: That's Petey's voice! Alice: What's he whining about now?
To the best of my recollection, there were a lot of interesting tidbits of information surrounding former POTUS Hayes. The only specific (I think) I remember is that he is still the only man to serve two non-consecutive terms. I believe there were also some peculiarities with the electoral college, possibly two competing groups of electors claiming to represent one state. But that may have been a different President.
It’s his stock answer for History class. If you keep using it, it’s bound to be the right answer one day, and it makes you look like you know at least something. You need one for each class. Try Moby Dick in English class. And 7 in Math. Granted, they’re not correct very often, but it you keep using them, the teach will conclude that you’re a moron and will quit calling on you.

The Rutherford B. Hayes Presidential Center in Fremont, Ohio; not too far from where I used to work….You’re welcome, Petey (and myriad others).
