if I recall, this is the arc where Petey got not one piece of candy from his trick-or-treating

Most people will just say “hey, lookit that kid walkin’ around with a box on his head” not realizing he’s mocking the very foundations of societal norms.

Is this like when you invent your own comic book character like the paisley detective, dress up as him, and nobody has any idea what you are?

“Honey, isn’t that round head, square box?” …..“Beats me! Call Charlie Brown!”

its the “immersed in consumerism” costume?

does the box have a stupid grin on the side?

Hmm, Petey’s mind as an [upside down] diorama…

Petey is deeper than you think!

Rampant consumerism is the key to happiness.
