Alice, you sneak, ruining your brother’s creativity for graphic novels.

There’s a theory that Melville’s 6-year-old niece messed with the pages with one of the drawings of her coloring books! Of course, back then only colors were black and white, that’s why the white whale.

Once again, a little under 10 years ago, Richard posted a blog entry regarding this and the prior 6 strips:

The video it points to is no longer available; this

Until I read the story, I thought “Moby Dick” was a vebereal disease.

David Bowie used a method called the cut-up method many times to inspire his writing. https://www.openculture.com/2019/05/how-david-bowie-used-william-s-burroughs-cut-up-method-to-write-his-unforgettable-lyrics.html

Alice the “I’m so innocent” saboteur! Her coloring book pages have been added to the Toad Zombies mix, and so far Peter has not sussed that out!

Yup. While writing, I’ve used this strategy of cutting apart my story and/or outline, placing it in front of me, and rearranging/looking for new plot ideas. Works darn well, too.
