I think this is the most contrasting visual image of the siblings in the comic.

I love the beach myself…hate all that sunlight, tho.. go figure…

Those three towels, hat and tarpaulin aren’t going to prevent your face from burning at the beach, Petey — better slather on some sunscreen yourself.

Oh, Petey. Did I not train you right ? Where is your welding mask?

Money saving hint, don´t buy sunscreen, cover skin with margarine and roll in the sand – instant factor 80!

And now we begin to understand why Petey gets his lunch money taken each day at school.

Petey won’t get skin cancer

The Aussies have very good reasons to call it sun cancer. The Mrs is a red haired Scotswoman. Long sleeves, long pants, sunglasses, and floppy hats for most of the summer. Maybe a sundress, but with a long sleeved shirt or wind breaker. She does not get sun tanned, she gets sun stroke.

I think I’m Petey, except I won’t even go near the sand.

I’d love beachcombing, but I might as well climb into an air-fryer. The end result is the same…extra crispy!

Were there ever such contrasting siblings as Petey and Alice? Every so often, such as now, I feel sorry for Madeline’s having to try to cope with both simultaneously….
