Both are correct. I have seen or I saw. Sometimes it seemed as if I spent my life correcting my children’s language (not really, tho!) but perseverance paid off. Same with table manners. You don’t have to make a big deal out of it, it’s the consistency in a matter-of-fact manner.
I always found it better to repeat what they said wrong and then give the correct version. “I seen this? No, son, it’s I have seen this or I saw this”!

Nothing wrong with learning to speak properly. And good manners are imperative.
