Everybody seems to have forgotten the true meaning of celebrating December 25. It’s to honor the Persian sun god Mithras.
That’s what you get when you blend traditions. I actually celebrate three separate Christmases all at the same time:

the giving of gifts celebrates Saturnalia the tree comes from the celebration of the winter solstice
the reason for celebrating Christmas in December is that the early Christians were smart enough to integrate pagan traditions into their new Cult.
In Russia, they go to church on Christmas, and give gifts on New Year’s Day. Maybe we should do that.
