I’ve never lived where they had tornadoes or hurricanes – I wouldn’t know what to do. Only earthquakes and fires where I’ve lived. Never had any damage from an earthquake and never been close to a fire. Feel so lucky sometimes.
You build a home close to the water, you can expect to be flooded out at least once. Just don’t expect the taxpayer to subsidize your insurance or to rebuild your home.
