’Tis always ’bout the leftovers for the men.

Favorite leftover?
Good food. Stew improves – as do many other long-to-cook dishes.
Ice cream left out of the freezer – not so much.
You kinda have to define “leftover.”
I like to buy or cook food I can eat for several days.
If I open some smoked salmon, or good cheese, it’s wonderful to have it in the fridge, but I don’t call it “leftovers”.
Similarly, when I make some soup or a stew… or roast a chicken…. anything I intend to eat for several days….
Those would be among my favorite leftovers, but I’m not sure I’d call them that.
There is no such thing as “leftover” chocolate…
Yes, I do make myself leave some…. but not because I couldn’t have eaten it.
Some of my favorite actual leftovers, then, would be what I bring home, if I’m taken to a nice restaurant, and can’t finish my meal….
i.e. the rest of my steak, or maybe a good pasta.
Sashimi, sushi, dessert, etc would qualify quite nicely….
Fried Chicken!!! Or a good Veggie soup reheated!!!
Spaghetti! Gets better every night.
Pizza. And if there’s any leftovers from a dinner or lunch out, they are rarely shared.Pizza. And any leftovers I have from a meal out, they’re not for sharing.
ah the glare from the Missus means he isn’t showing proper sympathy for the respective plights of Bonnie , Kim and Jenny
In his defense, he only asked about the dinner, not the girls. It’s about the food, not the drama.
I intentionally make too much Irish lamb stew among other favorites.
Most every Friday evening my wife goes out with the girls for supper. I always ask the same 2 questions. And sometimes get that same look.
