I eat what was “healthy” when I learned about healthful eating…
I cook from scratch….
including tons of fresh vegetables and fruits, both cooked and raw,
and a fair amount of meat and dairy (though, I admit, a lot less of those than I used to eat).
I very rarely buy pre-made or pre-seasoned food, frozen dinners, packaged mixes, etc…
I quit buying canned soup when I read the salt content.
If they want to keep changing what is healthful and what isn’t…. too bad!
One doctor told me I needed to be vegan (yeah right), and to stop drinking coffee….
the next doctor said meat is OK, and coffee is beneficial….
fat is bad, fat is good… I’ve been on low salt for years and now I’m told I don’t get enough salt!
Come on…. they can all decide on something stable, and then prove it.
I drink coffee, tea, and lots of water…. the very occasional Coke….
so I’m always rather shocked by people’s carts full of expensive, unnecessary beverages…. sodas, fancy juice drinks that are mostly sugar and water… flavored vitamin water….??
and by kids who ask…. "But what do you have to drink? " as though they’ve never drunk water.
PS to SFReader … silly me….
I was reading it as “San Francisco,” which is a very common abbreviation here in the “SF Bay Area” ….
instead of what should have been the obvious “Sci Fi”.
Like most of my lifestyle choices, I eat a fairly healthy diet with a lot of veggies and salad, not too much meat, less from dairy than I used to. I do eat prepared mixes sometimes because that’s a compromise I’m Willing to make. The biggest thing for me is that I have to enjoy my food. Fortunately, I love spinach, broccoli and arugula – and am not that big a fan of beef.

Do you eat healthy?
Once in a while – whenever our diet is the healthy one again according to “science.”
Fresh stuff most times. Not very much meat.
